Totally Worth it!

So last night, I was wet my pants excited to see the premier of the Dark Knight, the second in the redone batman movies. Yes, Heath Ledger is incredible, Christian Bale is amazing, and the storyline is unbeatable. Needless to say i got home at 3:45 am and am up this morning... at work... But like my title says, totally worth it!

CAMP?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Just a quick not for ya'll goin to camp. The ride situation is slightly different from last year. You are responsible for getting yourself up to camp, whether thats with a friend or parents or whatever. I will not be arranging rides this year, however, if you need a ride, i have room in my very comfortable crew cab truck, it is actually more suited for midgets or Wyatt O'Brein... I can also help you find a ride with another parent if you are looking. Thanks ya'll, see you at camp.

Raisin Festival

The time for celebrating Raisins is upon us, and that means we are going to sell, you guessed it, not raisins, but pizza. All youth who are involved in our mission trip to Denver and are looking to raise some more funds need to sign-up with me at the meeting on Sunday. The meeting starts at Noon and it is essential you are all there as we will be doing ice-breakers, team builders, information gathering as well as Booth sign-ups. See you there!

Blogging... about a Media Fast?

Thats right, but the fast is over so i am allowed to be on here again. Me and some of my students who are known as Covenant group meet every Thursday morning at 6:15 to dig deeper into scripture and attempt to get closer to God by doing what the scriptures tell us to do. I decided the day of reckoning was near and it was time for them to embark on a Media Fast that would last only 7 days. This would include no texting, no internet, no television, no video games, no secular books, and no movies.

As the days dragged on i found myself realizing that i was getting grumpier day by day and it was because even though i had cut out the things that usually hinder me from meeting with God, i still wasnt pursuing Him. So i picked up my bible and flipped to... Leviticus... woohoo! I leanred about rest and sabbath and how it is an act not only ordained by God but set as an example by Him and His Son. By the end of the week the fasts were easier, and more enjoyable, i finished 2 books and had a quiet time everyday. When is the last time i have done that in 7 days? Never? Anyway, i am back on and kicking...
